Alpine Hiking Adventure to Lake Helen MacKenzie

Experience the natural beauty of Vancouver Island on a guided hike to Lake Helen MacKenzie. Offered as a typical annual student activity, this scenic outing is suitable for a range of experience levels and gives students a chance to explore the region, meet new people, and enjoy time outdoors.

The well-maintained trail winds through ancient forests, sub-alpine meadows, and sparkling ponds, with raised wooden walkways along sections of the route. The round-trip hike usually takes about two hours, allowing plenty of time to enjoy the scenery at a relaxed pace.

Depending on the year’s itinerary and conditions, the experience may also include a chairlift ride to Alpine Meadows. From the top, students can take in sweeping views across the mountains toward the Pacific Ocean.

Outdoor Adventure at Camp Homewood

Spend two action-packed days at Camp Homewood on Quadra Island. This new overnight experience gives students the chance to explore the outdoors, build confidence, and make lasting memories with friends.

The itinerary may include canoeing, archery, horseback riding, a ropes course, riflery, and outdoor living skills training. With a mix of activities to choose from, students can step outside their comfort zones, learn new skills, and enjoy everything the camp has to offer.

The trip also includes an overnight stay at Camp Homewood and may feature a visit to Rebecca Spit, one of Quadra Island’s best-known coastal destinations. It’s a great opportunity to discover more of Vancouver Island while connecting with other students in a fun, supportive setting.

Vancouver City Experience – Three Days of Big City Excitement

Discover the energy and excitement of Vancouver on one of our most popular student trips. This multi-day experience gives students the chance to enjoy major attractions, professional sports, live entertainment, and downtown city life with friends.

The itinerary may include a Cirque du Soleil performance featuring spectacular acrobatics, creative staging, and striking visual effects. Students may also attend an NHL game at Rogers Arena and experience the excitement of cheering on the Vancouver Canucks.

Students will have time to explore downtown Vancouver, visit local attractions, and shop at some of the city’s most popular stores. The itinerary may also include FlyOver Canada, an immersive virtual flight over the country’s scenery and famous landmarks.

Accommodation is typically provided at a centrally located hotel in downtown Vancouver. Depending on the hotel selected, students may also have access to amenities such as an indoor pool, sauna, or hot tub.

Victoria Holiday Experience

Experience the magic of the holiday season in British Columbia’s capital city. This multi-day trip gives students the chance to explore Victoria’s best-known attractions, enjoy festive displays, and spend time discovering the city with friends.

The itinerary may include a guided walking tour featuring landmarks such as the Parliament Buildings, Fairmont Empress, Chinatown, and the Inner Harbour. Students may also have free time to explore downtown, browse local shops, and enjoy the city’s restaurants and cafés.

A visit to The Butchart Gardens may offer the chance to see its spectacular seasonal light displays and take memorable photos. The trip may also include the Malahat SkyWalk, where students can follow an elevated walkway through the treetops and enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding area.

Whistler Ski and Snowboard Experience

Experience the excitement of winter in Whistler, one of North America’s best-known ski and snowboard destinations and a former Winter Olympic host. This annual multi-day trip welcomes a range of ability levels, giving students the chance to build their skills, explore the mountains, and enjoy time with friends.

Students typically spend two days skiing or snowboarding at Whistler Blackcomb. Small-group lessons led by qualified instructors may be included, with students grouped by ability to create a safe and supportive experience for beginners and more experienced participants.

The itinerary also includes time to explore Whistler Village, known for its mountain setting, shops, cafés, and restaurants. After a day on the slopes, students can relax with friends and enjoy the atmosphere of one of Canada’s most popular alpine destinations.

Accommodation is typically provided at the Whistler Athletes’ Centre, which was built for competitors participating in the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. Tofino Coastal Experience

Discover the wild beauty of Vancouver Island’s west coast on our annual trip to Tofino. This multi-day experience gives students the chance to try surfing, explore the community, and relax with friends in one of British Columbia’s best-known coastal destinations.

The itinerary typically includes a half-day surfing lesson at one of Tofino’s beaches. Led by qualified instructors, the lesson is designed to make surfing safe and accessible for different experience levels, including students trying it for the first time.

Students may also have free time to explore Tofino Village, where they can visit local shops, art galleries, cafés, and restaurants. Surrounded by rugged coastline, sandy beaches, and ancient rainforest near Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, Tofino offers plenty to discover both on and off the water.

Hornby Island Adventure

Discover the natural beauty of Hornby Island, a peaceful destination just off the east coast of Vancouver Island. This day trip gives students the chance to hike, swim, relax on the beach, and enjoy the scenery of one of the region’s most memorable islands.

The itinerary typically includes a hike through Helliwell Provincial Park. Its coastal trail follows dramatic oceanfront bluffs and offers sweeping views of the Salish Sea, the Gulf Islands, and the distant Coast Mountains.

Students may also visit Tribune Bay Provincial Park, known for its sandy beach and clear, shallow water. Depending on the weather and conditions, students can swim, play beach games, explore the shoreline, or relax with friends.
