A plethora of outdoor activities and adventure also await students such as skiing, golfing, snowboarding, mountain biking, watersports, hiking, camping and whale watching. It has the mildest climate is Canada and a great number of days with pleasant temperature all year around.
This predominantly English-speaking population invites members of the global community to visit and experience our unique region. Comox, Courtenay and Cumberland are the three main communities found in the Comox Valley. This friendly, inclusive community offers urban amenities in a close-knit environment. The Comox Valley also includes several outlying small communities including Black Creek, Merville, Royston, Union Bay, Fanny Bay, and Denman and Hornby Island all of which are included in the Comox Valley School District #71.
Getting Here
The Comox Valley’s location on eastern Vancouver Island provides international students with several transportation options. The Comox Valley is serviced by major airlines including Air Canada, Westjet, and Pacific Coastal Airlines via Vancouver International Airport (YVR) where students may transfer for a short, 20 minute flight to the Comox Valley International Airport (YQQ). There is also Harbour Air seaplane service between Comox Harbour and downtown Vancouver daily from May to October. Ground transport is available from Vancouver to Nanaimo via BC Ferries. Airport pick up and drop off is provided for all international students arriving at the Comox Valley International Airport (YQQ).
