Comox Valley ISP Student Activities – Ski and Snowboarding Trip

We have our Ski/Snowboard day for Friday, February 26, 2016.

This is your opportunity to get a great deal for lessons, passes and rentals.

SIGN UP will start Friday Morning (Feb 5th) it will close on Tuesday Feb 16th!

If you would like to participate please fill out the attached registration form and bring it to our office at Lake Trail School or have your ISP Teacher at School send it to Suella at the ISP Office. You can pay by cheque, cash, or use the attached credit card form. Remember to get the information in soon as spaces are limited.

If you already have a ski pass and your own equipment, I will put you on a wait list to see if there is room on the bus for you and your equipment. The bus that will be taking us will have limited space for skis and boards.

COST: Lift pass, Lesson and Rentals (includes helmet) $66.00

            Lift pass, Lesson only (includes helmet) $42.00

            Goggles – $6.00

DEPARTURE TIME: 7:30am from Ricki’s Restaurant Parking Lot

RETURN TIME: 4:30pm to Ricki’s Restaurant Parking Lot

There are lockers available so bring some change ($1 – loonie) if you require one.

Lunch is not provided – be sure to bring money for lunch at the lodge or bring a packed lunch.

To be fully prepared, please read the following information carefully:

Clothing & Accessories: Appropriate clothing is a must! Below is a checklist of suggested Clothing for those not familiar with the alpine environment. You will be most comfortable if you dress in layers that can be removed or added as necessary. Please ensure that you are prepared for all types of weather.

Recommended items for ALL Outdoor Activities:

  • 2 pairs of gloves or mitts – MANDATORY
  • Long johns or warm tights
  • Long sleeve turtleneck or shirt
  • Thick wool socks or thin synthetic socks
  • Warm fleece or sweater
  • Ski pants or water repellent pants
  • Winter Jacket
  • Warm hat or Toque
  • Goggles and/or Sunglasses
  • Warm, winter boots for All Outdoor Activities

Alpine Safety

Skiers and Snowboarders are required to know and abide by the rules of the Alpine Responsibility Code (ARC). Violations of this code may result in loss of lift privileges or injury. The ARC is posted in various locations on the mountain and is on the back of the lesson cards. We have attached below a Link of the ARC to allow you to familiarize before you arrive on the Mountain.

The Ski Area Boundaries are marked with ropes and signs, and also marked on the area maps. Minors (18 or younger) are not permitted to cross these boundaries. Mount Washington Alpine Resort accepts no responsibility for the safety of persons choosing to cross these boundaries. Rescue of out of bounds persons may or may not be possible and should costs arise from rescue operations persons involved may be charged.
