Cultural Exchange Trip Leader Application

Step 1 of 3

  • The Board of Education supports sister school partnerships and believes in the goal of strengthening global partnerships.

    Guiding Principles:

    1. The focus of Cultural Exchanges is on secondary aged students learning “in situ” about the varied cultural differences and beliefs of students their own age and from around the world.
    2. A priority is to engage in classroom instruction and school activities in the foreign country.
    3. Excursions in that country will focus on local geography, culture and history.
    4. A transparent process will be undertaken in deciding on the Trip Leader(s)/planner(s)
    5. The Trip Leader(s) will be a teacher and/or administrator – teacher pedagogy and system operations will be discussed with the staff of the sister school. Through global connections we will continue to move toward best practices in all parts of our educational system.
    6. The Trip Leader will report out to their school staff and to the District Principal of International Education after each part of the exchange.
    7. The Trip Leader’s transportation, room and board, and TOC/TIC coverage will be funded by the project. The Trip Leader is only required to cover the costs of visa application, medical insurance and spending money.

Your “Expression of Interest” will be considered by the District Principal of International Education and the administration of your school. Notifications will go out as soon as possible so that the successful Trip Leader(s) may work with the District Principal and school staff to begin planning - for both the incoming group and the outgoing group.
